Reggie tells his own story, being a dog of superior intelligence. His life is full of adventures and reflections on being a small dog who is a big dog at heart. He wants to imitate his master and does such a good job of it that he earned the name of "Little Man." He is fairly certain that he is more human than dog, but relishes his dog nature as much as his almost-human nature. Anyone who has ever known and loved a Boston Terrier will see in Reggie the essence of this brilliant, noble, and willful breed.
Little Man in a Dog Suit The Story of a Boston Terrier eBook B R Wilson
What a delightful little read this one has been. To be honest the author had me on the first paragraph and did not let go until the final page; a page that came all too soon as far as I was concerned. This is the story of a small Boston Terrier named Reggie while who may have been the "runt" of the litter physically, has made up for his smallness with the heart of a warrior and the love and devotion we who have Boston Terriers as members of our family have come to expect in this wonderful breed.
The author has told the story of Reggie through the eyes of Reggie the terrier. The story is told in his voice and we get a "dog's eye view" of his life and the lives of his "pack." I have read several books using this method and some of them work while others do not. I can assure you that in this case the author has pulled it off with flying colors. This work has several things going for it that many of this nature do not. First is the fact that Wilson can write and write quite skillfully. I suspect that in "real life" she is a grand story teller and she has the ability to record her stories with the written word. This is a somewhat rare skill.
Second, and just as important as the first, is the fact that the author knows her subject, i.e. Boston Terriers and knows them well. We currently have two of these wonderful little dogs in our family, one 12 years old, the other 2. Trust me, this writer knows of what she speaks. Both my wife of 50 years and I have owned many dogs in our life time; some wonderful dogs and ones we will never forget but I can assure you that these two we now have, Iggy and Tigger are in a class of their own with distinct personalities yet are very typical (personality wise) of this breed. Ever dog lover has their favorite breed. The Boston Terrier is ours.
Reggie, the little dog telling his story begins from the time he was born through the next seven years of his life. I understand that this little guy is still going strong which brings up the fact (no spoilers here I hope) that his is not one of those "dead dog in the end books," which I avoid like the plague. The entire work is extremely upbeat. I know that all things die and most of the folks reading this review have gone through the experience of loosing a beloved companion - I know we have, many times, but I personally dislike very much reading about such matters. I have trouble enough adjusting to my own sorrow without reading of others - but hey, that is just me.
If you love and admire dogs in general or Boston Terriers in particular, then I can almost promise you that you will love this work and I highly recommend it. I do hope that the author will offer up and tell us more of Reggie's adventures.

Little Man in a Dog Suit The Story of a Boston Terrier eBook B R Wilson Reviews
The story line was great but I felt like master and dog were really not conected. And we never knew what his back injury was. Also he should have left out about the dog wanting to mate altogether. And it made you feel like Reggie really was about half mean and hateful. I find Boston's very loving and sweet.
I have a BT and this book rings very true to their nature and personality. I really enjoyed this book and the only thing I would have liked more is if it were longer. I hope the author produces a sequel to the adventures of Reggie. I will be the first to buy it.
FOund this book to be intriguing. I have a littl girl "Bosty" and loved to read the parallels to how the two seem to fill we "parents" lives. This breed of dog seems to take over your heàrt and you just can't help but love them and in this boo Wilson captured that love of the breed but more so the love of an individual Bosty. THe book seemed to end too soon, I am really interested to read about the other adventures of this pup and his family...or should I say his pack!
This is a great story for anyone, especially those who are familiar with the breed! Now that I think on it, if you are NOT familiar with Bostons, read this story and I dare you to NOT fall in love with them!!!! Truth time... I actually read parts aloud to my Boston puppy, Holly. I think she appreciated many of the parts and could relate to Reggie's experiences with his litter mates.
Just received it. I haven't read it yet, but I am very disappointed. I was under the impression that I was paying $10 for a full book. This seems to be a short story, at most. I wouldn't even call it a novella. I am an avid reader and a boston lover. Either way, $10 is excessive for this pamphlet.
I was recommended this book at work the other day, so this evening I sat down to check it out. This has to be one of the best dog books I have ever read !! It was like Marley and me but better since it was from Reggie's perspective ! I cannot wait to read more of his tales. Since my little man Kujo passed away my fiancé and I have been waiting to pick out a new dog but reading Reggie's story has reminded me of what we are missing out on ! I wish I could give this book 10 stars !
I have a year and a half old Boston who also had a rough start. Right off the bat in the first chapter of this book, I told my boyfriend "This is basically Winston's story so far!" I started reading this on a flight to Vegas last week but had to stop near the end because I didn't want to cry on the plane by myself not knowing what was going to be the result of his surgery. This story hits so close to home with the experiences and I was hoping for a happy ending, but was too scared to keep going until I got home so I started reading another book (until I was home)! Luckily, there isn't an end just yet and I look forward to reading more about Reggie. Very good story and I loved seeing the pictures of him and his family throughout the book as well.
I also call our Boston, Winston, Little Man and the title of this book was what made me decide I had to give it a read.
